Hi all

We are planning to open a delicatessen in Honor Oak Park, we would really like to have your feedback and input into what you think it should sell, where it should be, what you think is a good comparison or indeed if it is necessary to have a deli in HOP. We recognise we are nothing without our customers and have devoted considerable time to understand our target audience and local demographic. As locals ourselves, we think we have a great insight and hope our passion and commitment will shine through.

Please could you follow the URL below,

we would really appreciate your views and comments to our exciting business. We are passionate about making this venture happen for our local community, so your thoughts are really valued. We are still in negotiations over our preferred premises although we have a timeline for October 2010. Please forward this link to local friends /neighbours/businesses and groups. Thanks again for your participation.

I used to use the old deli regularly so I am looking forward to this new venture opening!

I have added the link to the Hop and Beyond blog and also the corresponding Facebook group.

Great addition I hope.

The old Deli made a number of mistakes.

Please pm me if you want some feedback on(from a consumer's perspective) the mistakes they made - entirely subjective of course.

We have just designed the branding for Billings, the new fishmonger and butchers in Sydenham. It got quite a lot of press, not to mention all the hits it got on the internet.

If you are interested, get in touch.

All the best

Good examples are Degustation (niche deli for french food stuffs) in Brockley and Broca food market also in brockley but on the west side of the tracks.

Good luck.

Many thanks for the great response to the survey by all those who took part - it is still open if people want to add their thoughts. It has been fantastic to have the support and the information and suggestions are very welcome.[/align]

Hope to see you all soon in our shop!

I also think the Broca food market and Degustation are useful models to look at. Theirs are a small selections of good quality products that are mostly reasonably priced. At Degustation in particular, the things that may cost a bit extra (eg wine) are worth it for special occasions and larder staples like mustard taste a lot better than what's available at the supermarket. We'll be very happy to have you in the area!

Delilady,

Having just read the announcement that an estate agent is moving into the old "Nick's" site (link to thread), how are your own plans coming along.

I for one, would prefer a deli to an estate agent.

We did look at Nicks for our deli but it was little bit small for our plans! We are still progressing with our plans - maybe need to revise the opening date though as its unlikely to be Oct now. Will keep you posted.

Thanks very much for all those that have supported us so far by making such positive comments, filling in our questionnaire (still open by the way for anyone that has not) and generally giving us very sound advice.

Look forward to the Deli and good luck with your plans.

It isn't easy to open up a new business these days with the lack of finance and the bureaucracy of the local authorities. Out of interest, which site on H.O.P are you looking at ?
