I hope someone can offer some tips or advice.
I've been a Pay as you go member of FHP for some time. Recently I've become bored with just doing my usual Gym work-out and decided I'd like to attend a few Classes BUT I'm finding it impossible to book on anything..I've realised the classes get lisated for booking online a week in advance but I've never been able to get in a class.
I go the 'waitlist'..then I'll get an email (sometimes at 3AM so I discover it around 8am the next morning) saying a palce has become available so I'll go to the app to book and lo and behold..the classes now say 'Fully Booked' Its getting REALLY REALLY frustrating.
and I dispair of ever getting to a class.
I'm posting this in the hope of getting any tips on the best time to try and book a class..
Am I better off going to the reception and trying to book in person?
Please help!

It's a problem with many Better gyms. Demand for classes often exceeds capacity.
Also, Forest Hill has a lighter programme than some other Better sites due to limitations on the dry side capacity.
If you are really keen, you could explore some of the membership options which would allow you to use other gyms besides Forest Hill, either just the ones in Lewisham or more widely such as Crystal Palace.
I'm a confirmed gym bunny myself, so I'm often to be seen at 10:00pm logging into a class for the following week. I also use more than one gym as there are a couple of coaches whose classes I've been attending for years, and these coaches are fairly peripatetic.

Thank-you for responding!
I'm also a member at Apex on London road (formerly Energie) but just renewed as Gym only as I never went to a single class there last year (did'nt appeal or schedule did'nt allow) so decided to save £100 and attend classes elsewhere..I had no idea it would be this difficult to get to a class at a council gym.
I'll take your advice and look into Crystal Palace and Lewisham but the time waiting for and travelling on public transport makes me inwardly groan just thinking about it!

Have you looked into Mind studio on Dartmouth Rd? They offer a range of classes throughout the week (yoga, pilates etc.) and you can book single sessions, so no separate membership needed.
