I know where you are coming from, but one of the biggest issues is the dilution of responsibility within departments.
So many depertments have to get involved to do the simplist of things, that it is these things that are deemed, too much effort for the result expected.

There are indeed many things around dear FH that could desperatly do with dealing with. I would list a few, but then it might cause confusion as to which thread my comments would actually belong in.

Personally, each time I see a problem, I contact the relevant authorities, and 9 times out of 10, its deal with quite swiftly. Be it items dumped, dangerous paving, failed street lighting, pot holes, or buildings falling down. Persistance is the key.

Thats not to say that everything is so simple, but if each individual who makes comment on here, takes 5 mins out to report the issues through the right channels..... a lot can be achieved.
