The Mayor's office speaks!

Thank you for your email to Sir Steve Bullock, Mayor of Lewisham,
regarding the Forest Hill Xmas tree.
I understand that all the tree lights around the borough were switched
off at the beginning of January as planned. However, as these are large
trees (20ft)they have to be erected and removed by a crane vehicle. This
work is carried out by our sub contractor, and the removal of the trees
was due to commence a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, the
contractor has experienced problems with both the vehicle and staff
sickness, but we have been promised faithfully that they will be turning
up today and Friday to carry out the works.
