There was a reporter yesterday looking for a local story. What could be better than this. Only a suggestion.

But Brian, it's not a great advert for Forest Hill is it? Best way to stop this kind of thing is not to buy the BI from these people. They'd go elsewhere if there was not trade.

Gingernuts
Maybe you are correct but I never had or would buy their dubious publication.
Surely scenes decribed by Roz are criminal. Fine if the Police make arrests .

Brian, the publication itself is hardly dubious; the magazine and the concept have been highly endorsed and proven as a constructive means of improving opportunities for people in difficult circumstances and increasing the public understanding of homelessness.
I am also concerned about the impact of these aggressive techniques on other, more compliant, Vendors and the reputation of the magazine itself as it will surely harden public opinion.

Sorry Roz
Perhaps I did not choose my words correctly.
Good Luck in sorting this problem out , perhaps best if I say no more.

The begger has been noted by us in response to a call we had earlier and thanks to the fine efforts of people letting us know on here
We share the station with the Forest Hill team but needless to say we shall be down there as much as shift work allows us to do so.
Satchers, dont worry we do read the forum and take action on topics we consider to be relevant to our areas of work.

Two of my friends work for the Big Issue and I will inform them of this thread on the SE23 forum today.

Thankyou Christiana
Saw her sister outside Morisions , George St , Croydon today.
All BI sellers look like they are closely related. Must be quite a business.

I find it absolutely extraordinary that this ridiculous, pointless and dangerous thread still keeps popping up. It's bl**dy awful. Can it be canned for good please? Or shifted to a separate section of its own. I leave it to members to come up with a name for that section but I can think of a couple.
Why I can't resist looking at it is questionable I guess, but I can't help myself, and it always, ALWAYS, irritates me! There, now I'm blummin well posting on it too!
Arrgghh!!!

Hmm-closely related?
Is that because she is also another human being?
Please take the time to find out just what the Big Issue does and how for people less fortunate. They only way they are possibly 'related' is through their circumstances.
This thread is not ridiculous if it ensures that the brilliant work done by the Big Issue is not maligned. The only people this is dangerous to is those in need!

Big Issue sellers are salespeople not beggars - this is endorsed by the magazine. They are not meant to be 'Obstructing the general public' for example by 'sitting on the pavement'. They behave like beggars, so no surprise people object.
There is every reason to believe these people are part of the same family as they are often seen together, including the child that gets dragged along with the 'father' while he hassles people to buy the paper. Who knows what their situation might be? who can say if they are related or not? what does it really matter - it's beyond me why this is a 'dangerous' thread.

I know Gingernuts...telling people that a BI seller is breaking BI's own code of conduct - dreadfully dangerous.

Brian, would you like to add a further comment about how you won't be making any more comments?

multisync did your school have a uniform? How ever did you tell anyone apart when "they all" dressed the same way.
What racist bilge. Unbelievable.
