Does anyone know what's going to happen with the shop where the Money Shop on London Road was? I spotted today that it has moved and there is scaffolding on the building.

And so soon after Cash City closed. Such a shame to lose both of these businesses from the high street :-)
There has been no planning application for 14 London Road.

It does mean there are two emtpy units on London Road, both ideal for anybody thinking about opening an independent shop. Across the road from the Money Shop, Eaton Properties is now empty. Both are in really good locations.

It looks like the the shop where Eaton Properties was is now under offer so hopefully it won't be empty for long http://www.movehut.co.uk/property/265634...ll-london/

Decker
My son had a shop in Brixton and he always raved about Honest Burger - until he tried the burgers at The Hill!

Back on thread though - I will be interested to see what we get in the place of Eaton Properties; and hopeful that it will be a retailer instead of an estate agent.

I only hope we get some nice shops opening..not another fast food place or moneylenders.

I suspect a certain supermarket chain may be very interested in the site to extend the size of their store once they move into M&Co.

That's how Sainsbury's were able to expand the space in their store.

The sign now says "Let by" and I've noticed the painted the window frames grey. Does anyone know who/what's coming to the high street?

I don't know for sure, but when I spoke to the estate agents about it, they suggested that the new tenant wasn't too dissimilar to the Money Shop. Certainly nothing too exciting unfortunately.
