I'm always interested in local history and although I wouldn't describe myself as a Perry Valean (I'm not sure that anybody does), I've used the road hundreds of times over the last 25 years.

I can't really add anything to your research, but felt that it deserved a thank you as an interesting article on the local forum, and I suspect others share my interest in such postings giving us a greater sense of the history of the place in which we live.
