A good Perry Vale Ward Assembly last night, and congratulations to the three projects which secured funding

* Ageing Well in Lewisham
* Rockbourne Youth Club and
* Friends of Kilmore School for their school gardens

Those that missed out will have another chance in May - 19th I think, but obviously other groups may also have submitted bids for the remaining £24,550. Smile Paul Gale is the Council officer to approach, and before going to the May Assembly bids will also be discussed by the co-ordinators group, whose next meeting has not yet been fixed.

There was a good presentation from a member of Lewisham's Recylcing team, which got me thinking about whether Lewisham could help with web site widgets, feeds etc. to install on local web sites to provide automatically updating messages relevant to recycling. Given their excellent track record with LoveLewisham I guessed they would be able to, and from talking after the meeting, it seems that they are working with 'Brockley Central' on something along these lines. Are you reading this, Admin?

Finally there was a section on Community updates, in which the Pastor of the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Kirche on Dacres Road put down a marker for wanting to engage more with other local groups, and mentioned, in particular, an event to be held Sunday July 3rd with German beer, sausages and band. Sounds good value - and hopefully its promotion can be linked in with the Sydenham Arts Festival, which starts that weekend.

Cllr Susan Wise also gave an update on the Friends of Mayow Park - but I'll be posting on this separately.
