The Territorial Support Group of the Metropolitan Police would not have been dealing with burgularies, I assume they would have been sitting around all evening with nothing to do, waiting for things to kick-off somewhere.

But I agree that it would be lovely to see as many police on the streets of London as turn up to protests in central London. It sometimes surprises me that with so many police we have such a poor clear up rate of the reported crime in this country.
