Agree with that, my crazy theory is that James Newsbits ex was carrying on with her partner years before they got together - the new partner abducted the little boy and the brought him with the name James

Evidence - the ex wifes so called step son is the same age as the boy who went missing.

The ex wifes dying father get calling him Oliver only to be told no this is James

Apologies if im boring anyone with this who does not watch the programme

Interesting, but that doesn't explain her utter devastation at her son going missing. Unless you think she wasn't in on it and that her new partner abducted Oliver without her knowledge? Don't forget that she also saw James when Oliver went missing and didn't recognise him as Oliver. But I agree, there's something fishy about the new partner...

Damn forgot they saw the other little boy at that time, so that blows my silly theory out of the water, yet i do think the ex wife has carried on with a few blokes as they may be the reason that James Nesbit beat one of them up.

Once it all comes out what happened - we will all go - oh how boring

It's eight parts in total I think so the story will be spun out over five more episodes! The ending had better be good...

So we appear to be near the end now.

Think we can count out Ian and the new fella of Tonys ex wife

My monies on the woman who owns the hotel

She had them sort of coins as they were the ones her hubby got for being sober - no idea what her motive is - or was the finding of the coin yet another red herring ?

I admit to watching it last night in a state of some disrepair which didn't help.

On second thoughts :

his appearances have been sporadic he isn't a suspect and the guilty one is always someone you've overlooked.

Ollies scarf was found at a charity shop after being handed in by a woman who found it in a house she bought, where it turns out Ollie was kept, however he wasn't wearing his scarf when he went missing which means it was taken and given to him by someone who had access to his hotel room, the hotel guy!!

some significance lies within the tv not working and having not worked for 8 years still, i think it has a camera in it and its their way of watching children in rooms etc.

the mayor is covering up and leaking info and having people killed, the guy at the station and the guy in prison to stop it getting out as any connection to this kidnapping will ruin him!

then there's the coin that was handed in, then again that evidence may have been tampered with and ollie may have stolen the coin but its unlikely no? when would he have had the chance?

lastly, ollie when lost in the bar may have gone with the guy as he recognized him and knew hed get him home to his mum?

I think you may be on to something. I thought the hotel woman seemed suspicious last night... but then they all seem suspicious. I even have my doubts about Julien!

sorry for being so tardy but have just seen this thread. I thought it was poor. far to long- should have been 4 episodes only and a pathetic ending and last episode. How simple it all was and how totally unrelated to all the stuff we had been put through for 8 weeks. And having to put up with the truly awful James Nesbitt and his been stung by a bee expression. Series 2? Well it is a totally new and unrelated story. But I don't think I will invest the time in it.
