Thread: Stanstead Road / Brockley Rise junction lights. Post: RE: Stansted Road / Brockley Rise junction lights.
Might this be connected with the car driving into the green box on the corner of Cranston and Stanstead Roads the other evening? |

Thread: International Space Station Post: RE: International Space Station
You can indeed get much more detailed views - this photo needed a focal reducer to make the whole moon fit in the field of view. Normally you can only see a little part of the moon, but the detail yo... |

Here's a shot of what the moon looked like through the C8 last night. |

My C8 is great for observing the moon and planets, even under London's light pollution. Under a really dark sky it's a superb all-rounder and quite a manageable size. |

Thread: International Space Station Post: RE: International Space Station
Thanks - it was just an ordinary Canon DSLR attached to the back end of my telescope. I tracked the ISS through the finder-scope, pushing the scope by hand to keep the ISS as close to the cross-hairs... |

Thread: International Space Station Post: RE: International Space Station
I've wasted great swathes of time watching and photographing the ISS from Forest Hill. Here's a short video I made of it when it came over on 14 April.

Thread: Wanted - a bit of space in a skip Post: Wanted - a bit of space in a skip
Does anyone have spare capacity in a skip?
I've been smashing up a bit of our front garden wall and clearing stones from the flower bed and, as a result, I have seven small but very full rubble sac... |

But because they are very bright small sources of light, the shadows are much more striking. Where the luminaires are up in tree branches, it creates too much contrast and you can't see the dog poo o... |

Thread: Best views for The Shard laser show? Post: RE: Best views for The Shard laser show?
The view from One Tree Hill is quite restricted because of the trees, I think Blythe Hill Fields would be better (and less likely that there'll be people in the way).
Having said that, the view fro... |

Thread: Shed broken into and bike stolen Post: RE: Shed broken into and bike stolen
Eek. Sorry to hear about that.
It's frighteningly close to my fleet. I'd better re-open negotiations to have at least some of our bikes indoors. Or get one of those trimetals bike stores. |

I went up that tower last summer during a bike ride organised by Lewisham Cyclists (no, we left the bikes out at the front). The owners are doing a great job of restoring the tower and I am very envi... |

We've had very patchy ADSL connection (south of the exchange) over the last few weeks and then yesterday it was out of action all day. We're with AOL at the moment and their "customer support" people... |

Thread: German Bridge Post: RE: German Bridge
As a cyclist I'd like to chip in and say that it's quite a useful route, aprticularly when out cycling with children, as it avoids the A205 under the railway at FH. It's a bot of a pain having to pus... |
