Thread: Forest Hill for 20-somethings Post: RE: Forest Hill for 20-somethings
Although I'm 40, so rather older than you, one of the big reasons I moved to Forest Hill last summer was because, being single and having no children, I really liked the atmosphere and the vibrancy. I... |

I did, for a couple of hours or so. Thames Water were working on a leak, on the corner of Devonshire and Ewelme Roads (I think - there's a van there and work being done, at any rate).
All back now ... |

Thread: Fiver Fest in Forest Hill Post: RE: Fiver Fest in Forest Hill
The FiverFest inspired me to head to Campervantastic to hopefully get a book or two for my parents - except I got there only to find it's not open on weekends.
As I have a full time job during the ... |

Thread: Which e-reader? Post: RE: Which e-reader?
I've got the bog-standard £69 Kindle, as I don't often want to read in the dark. I love it - I thought I'd lost it last week and was ready to immediately buy another (luckily I'd just left it at work)... |

Apparently the best thing to shout is "Fire!". Some will not answer calls for generic help because they're afraid to get involved, or think it's people messing about - but "Fire!" draws more active at... |

Thread: 63 Honor Oak Park (ex White Wood Shop) Post: RE: Honor Oak Park Parade
What I don't understand, and this is relevant both to this thread and the one about the Forest Hill laundrette, is why estate agents want to spend money on their offices anyway. Doesn't everyone look ... |

Hi Poppy - I know, I visit it regularly and enjoy it, despite barely being able to swim myself. Perhaps once my lessons materialise (I was too late for the first lot so am waiting to hear when there'l... |

Thread: Forest Hill Pools Post: RE: Forest Hill Pools
If anyone wants to read a positive (and objective) review, there's a lady who blogs about London's swimming pools, all very well written and entertaining, and she's paid the new pool a visit already..... |

Thread: Reporting water leaks made easy Post: RE: Reporting water leaks made easy
If the one on Devonshire Road is anything to go by, it took 2.5 weeks from being reported to any substantive action. Something "happened" most days, to lull me into a false sense of security (traffic ... |

Thread: Post Boxes Sealed Post: RE: Post Boxes Sealed
Yup, inspired by this thread I had a look at the one outside WH Smith whilst I was waiting at the crossing and it has a hand-written notice on it that it will re-open on the "11/12 September". |

Ugh. The Devonshire Road one was listed until very recently then. However, I shall not despair - when there was a leak a few weeks ago a bit further down the road, that became unflagged about an hour ... |

No can do re the aerial - not my house and I suspect the reason Sky's installed is to fix the problem, so not convinced the landlord will want to fiddle with the existing aerial.
