Roz,

Is it anything to do with marriage?

I look forward to today's clue!

No,it has nothing to do with nuptials. I am already spoken for and bigamy isn't on the agenda. Infamy might be.

Today's clue, is

'for'.

Thank you for listening, my audience of one.

Roz,
You missed Saturday's clue.
My next guess is:
Is it something to do with a 24 hour shoe shop?

Roz,
My recollection of algebra tells me that the area of a circle is 2ïr (2 pie r). So my next guess is that Councillor Whiting has promised Roz that he will open the new pie and mash shop in Dartmouth Road.
Am I close?

Roz,
This may be a radical suggestion. But have you considered emailing Councillor Whiting to ask him to respond to your post?

Roz,
Didn't you used to write the clues for Ted Roger's 3-2-1 show. No-one could understand those either!

I f there is no answer soon I will contact Mazher Mahmood, ace reporter for the News of the World. He will don his arab robes, ply Councillor Whiting with alcohol and get him to talk!

Roz,
How about another clue?
Or should I start a post called "What has Roz promised Sherwood?"?

Today's clue is ' traffic'.
Sherwood, you are making this all worthwhile. I had hoped somebody would.
I'm giving Cllr Whiting until Wednesday as I won't have access to a pc from now until then.

OK, my guess is that it's either a proposal for Controlled Parking Zones or some sort of Traffic Calming. Any other ideas?

I browse the Forum posts regularly, and I have to say that I feel that Cllr Whiting deserves a bit more respect than he is getting here. He has never been slow to pick up on important threads in the past, and tha fact that he has not responded to this teasing would suggest that he is not impressed. I'm certainly not. If you've got something to say, then spit it out.

I was hoping that it was a proposal for a deli counter at the Moor Park Tavern

Roz,

As your clue is traffic. My answer is bollards!

Thistleblower,
I think Roz has given Councillor Whiting a great deal of time to respond. Try to treat this as a bit of fun. No disrespect is intended to Councillor Whiting on my part. I agree that we are extremely lucky that two councillors regularly browse this forum and post replies.
My feeling is that Councillor Whiting probably has not seen this thread yet, which is why I suggested emailing him. There will be an election in May. We are giving him an opportunity to communicate with a large number of voters here.

Yes perhaps we are fortunate that the councillors like to keep up a discourse with the local community. However, let's also not forget that they are here to serve our interests locally. People deserve respect for trying to do a good job, not merely because their name is prefixed with 'Councillor' I'm sure they both do try to do their best, but we also have a right to reply and to criticise if we feel there are areas for improvement.

I'm with Thistleblower on this one. Councillor Whiting has entered into communication in this forum of his own volition. There are official channels and he doesn't need to do this. My worry is that if people continue to take the p***, that this direct contact will cease. I wouldn't blame him too much either. Shoot the messenger?

Andy,
The fun is not aimed at Councillor Whiting. Don't forget that Roz is offering him the opportunity to make the post and take the credit for whatever it will be.

Roz,

Come on. Own up. You are Councillor Whiting's election agent and you have been doing this as a publicity stunt to put his name in the public eye.
Time is up. What did Councilllor Whiting promise you?

Good, I am totally confused. I like this thread. Has this anything to do with Celebrity Big Brother?
What is wrong with a bit of innocent fun guys, not exactly libelling our representatives are we? And perhaps our elected representatives have a sense of humour and can take jibing in
good spirit (killjoys, life is too short).

Simon is spot on. But then he has probably read the Lib Dem circular that has been doing the rounds. Yes, its a proposal for some traffic calming around the Honor Oak Road area. I thought Cllr Whiting was going to be the first to announce it, as he had asked us to keep it confidential until his announcement in January. However January was slipping by fast and we hadn't heard from him so I felt a little teasing was in order.
I will look forward to being formally advised about these proposals and the consultation, which I am sure will be instigated shortly.
Hip hip....

We can't be sure that will be suitable for a family website.
